Commissioned by Collage Arts and KORI, A Primal Scream was created in response to the overwhelming events of 2020. This performance, accompanied by a haunting soundscape, speaks to the collective tension and internal struggles that surfaced during the pandemic.

Using the metaphor of an ice table holding a fragile tower of sand, the performance critiques the fragility of our capitalist systems. As the ice slowly melts, the sand tower collapses, obscuring my vision—a symbolic reflection of the inevitable breakdown of unsustainable structures. Through this collapse comes an opportunity for liberation, both personal and collective.  A Primal Scream embraces the harsh realities we faced, but also celebrates the strength we’ve found to confront and overcome them.
