The Renovation (2020)

Goldsmiths UCL

The Renovation my first immersive installation, a looped narrative exploring the relationship between the soul and the mind, and how depression and healing intertwine. In this piece, the soul wrestles with entrenched thoughts of depression, low self-esteem, and fractured relationships, symbolised by a black structure representing the mind.

Audiences were invited to reflect on their own internal struggles. How do external societal forces shape the way we express our true selves? And can we dismantle these internalised narratives to create space for healing and renewal? This piece opened up a conversation about finding home within ourselves, despite the societal pressures that seek to confine us.
